brenham studio

three of eight paintings i am working on over in Brenham, 2005
Well i found out the Historic commision is trying once again to sieze our street., Man that chapps me off, i can only imgine a battle with these folks over how many chicken heads can i put out on the yard,.
About a couple years ago i went in front of the commision in one of these town hall thing, they were trying to feel the public out over it, i told them i wanted them to admit this was controversal,(taking our street Hopkins) so they didn't get the idea everyone is for being in the historic district, I rember trying to get some of the member to admit it, it was a controvery, cause i didn't want them to pull one over on us ,when they go in front of the City council, one of the blue hairs got so mad
" are you calling us a bunch of lyers" she said,
i told her "that, why? would i want to add another level of beurcartic crap to my house, why?" especially with the characters like you running it, all i need to do is piss one of you off and then i am fined out the ass!.
i went on to explain that my house , will be history , not reflect a "history". History is made now,.
one of my braggin points to all this is if i ever fail miserably as an artist, i can at least have the most tackyest house in San Marcos,
they cann't take that from me!!!!
or can they..
i have had a wierd relationship with my chicken fence, its sorta loud and out there, either people love it or hate it, i like sitting out on my front porch and watch all the people drive by and wonder this is my life, the man who made the chickenhead fence, i have had delsions of being a professional waver, sipping beer and letting the days roll by out on the porch its like. ,
well eventualy we are all gonna retire, and hang out for hours on end, some where, do nothing , cause we want to rest,. so hannging out on the front porch, is like a fast forward to the future, here i am, this is it
(its even more dramatic if i am drunk or something)
the porch looks bad to the whole thing is caving in and pieces of bords hang from it, it does looks great i even ran Christmas tree lights around the holes and rot marks,. Its great to walk out on the porch and see some older ladys pointing at the fence in there SUV's and i am out there with a machette ,and a beer .
as a matter of fact, thats what the grand plan is to this place, wait till i start making the 12 foot tall cherabs sculptures of me with machettes kinda like friday13th meets Egypt,
yea! thats the ticket, l!
