this is the infamous chicken shack or house in Marathon, its got the whole BigBend area, known as i chicken george cause of the heads that were on it,, it was first made in 2002 whan i was out there, looked good too, but after three years of sun and wind look at it, so i did minor repairs with what budget i could muster,
Evans Gallery owns it, there is so may delapicated structures i wanted to convert alot of them into these types of building, the town loved it when it was made, a couple of folks thought it was ruining the landscape, outta town rich folks who moved to Marathon to excape the city, yaaa, but this is west texas, not the minimal Marfa crap which i have notice me and James loud drunkend egotistial natures cann't stand the "kultured inteligantisia" moving it, trying to bug out the Turlingua(sp) syndrom of west Texas..

this is the "new" and impoved "chicken head house" as i called it,. working onthe first version was fun i savaged all the wood from the barn and did all the tripp, the building itself was the weight station next to a feral check point that weighted trucks comming out the Big Bend area, or was it for the train?, . its small and was falling to pieces, the inside has this old plyboards with numbers and truckplates#'s,.

view to the other side of town, and James new studio, onces was where i stayed in this old barn, "man it was great!" but james tore it down and made this new building
Also when i was out there i arrived about 4 o clock, i bought a six pac in Fort stockton and arived in Marathon , and saw Liza, owner of this place the Adobe Rose,View image i had to burrie th hatchet with this B/B thats next to Evans Gallery, this place saved my life by offering me free showers and bathroom, i traded them work etc, i was partof the west Texas experiance out there as a hobo artist that this place could point out when tourist came by, but, well the problem was when they left in the sumer Aug, they asked me to keep the larg fish tank full, (it dry out there) and i did, they were gone for a month, and i was gonig to leave right before they returned , so i kep the place up to a degree, pulling weeds etc, but i made a mistake,. when i was filling the tank up i left the hose in there to long and killed all the fishs, i left in there for three days, about flooded the place and spanded a massive weed fest, i felt so bad about it i ended up making a couple of works, about chickens and dead fishs, , so i carryed the guild for a long time, and i would send them money to pay off the water bill, but never met Liza untill now,
so she wanted some roster heads, and the deal was resolved,
