one other story,
i wrote another story a day or so ago, but felt mortifyed about the story in some way i wish i would have never told anybody about this site, i could be more candid, about the art bizness,
let's face it the art bizness is like the mafia you piss off the wrong people your in trouble and they will go out of there way to make sure you don't do bizness in their zone.
the topic i wrote about is about collecting, and artist production, an endless fasination to me, i contrasted Dick Wray and Rev Johnie Swearigin, in the topic, i thought ,
whats the true value of art
this inthe backdrop of Kent Rush's comments, a while back..
but that said
here is a cute photo of scruffy in my studi being all sassy &scary

Well one of the storys i would like to share is the top biggest collecting mishapes
, one being the lack of $$$ to buy the last gallery show of Evert Spruce, in 1993 over in Austin,
it would be one of my piviting experiances , as an artist,
why
well Evert Spruce , symbolises to me the godfather of Texas primative folk expressionism back in the 40-50, he and a bunch of like-minded folks set out to capture Texas in this surreal tone of its past fontei spirt, ,
well
it was the primative gone array, in the newly created art /school universites at the time,
well the story being is that i meet Spruce, and Charles Umloft, ( i thought this guy was dead along time ago) but he showed up tp Spruces gallery show ,
you have to keep in mind they were 80's plus, i mean these guys have seen everything, and they were the last two to survive into the 90's, well except Fearing and Farney, i think
but
litsening to these guys talk about how long they lived and were still at it,.
Spruce seemed bemiffed as to the value of his work , now being in the 90's, it was still affordable, 600- 1500, i could have bought a spruce 1940 drawing for 200$ unframed, ,, a rare ocasion, Y/N?
it was like you could feel the dealer collecotor vultures waiting, for the leap of prices,.
sad but true
scareity fuels the value
it sux if you think you can still challlege the "illilusions of the value of the market" but then this is art
Spruce is one of my orginal Heros
and being
a blantant ansesterual worshiper
i partioinised my illsusive past
of a Vanishing Texas....
-----
another photo oF scruffy

"Good pussy is what"?
i wrote
"the basics of life is finding a good pussy"?
