well its the end of October
I think Tonight i am going to start back to work, i have my John Carpenter Cd "Halloween" layed out, and i am preparing to put iup the Hide out show in Austin, which means i am going to start going down there alot this week, today looks great its bright and sunny , and i am drinking Walmart brand coffee and creamer, Yeaks! God this crap is bitter!.
One of the things i have been rummbling around alot with this month is being captivated by what your do, or it have the capiblity to hold your attention, Alot of the
Well october is comming to a close , i noticed, i haven't painted once this month, hummm
I got into a conversation the other day about what art is, i said its like magic , but i don't believe in magic,
but i would love to believe magic is real, so i am willing to conjure up the souls of the dead to make magic real or work, trickery and super human powers lye benethe, .
Thats what art is? the capiblity, your seeing magic at work,?
i think i as a magician, I have to discliam my own tricks, show them for what they are, and if they are realy for real, then it is magic,
but , i won't tell,
cause, real magic would slips threw your fingers...
whats in a proff anyway
my studio, i cann't seem to even get started on those two other paintings in back bunnys and pig looking at dustdevil, headed for Big Bend gallery,.
I was thinking about making a trip backout to big bend for a week or so ,
Well i am back, man its raining like crazy real humid, the house takes on an extra depressing smell of ol food , moterparts, grease and stail beer. som how when it gets cold you cann't smeel all this,. I have Occupyed this house here in San Marcos for about 8 years, its like the house for broken men, or like "leave us the fuck lone" Robbie is the only one with a girlfriend , Me and Tonya are on and off like a flickering light, but its a house where guys predominate, no cleaning sorta smelly and hazzordis. ..
Scared monkey find hanging gators.
well , i am outta here for a while, trying to reform myself, a bit burned out for some reason. Work wise, i am gong to start PFA2 make about 12 new ones and some studies and this new concept Texas Gold paintings, ( i have a bunch of these Texas Gold grocrey stamps use them on the frams). Its been interesting studying the et show pfa set, the first set pfa Took way to long to make and i want there to be a consistances in frame and identiy witch sometimes got lost on the making of these, i am going to add some more pics to it, some spares that didn't make the cut,.
Two paintings taken from photos i took of this local musician artist Furly , there is a whole story just in him, the paintings will be on one of his new CDs,.

I am rounding up all whats left of this type of work, 1999-2002
One interesting thing happen this week, well, a first since , i have been on the web, an Austin blogger came down for a vist, named Donut Posse, ( check out his site!) its interesting to see what he digs up., He's about 30 we talked about exciteing gerna's that there isn't made enough work on or explored like biblical horror shows ,. There isn't enough paintings done on this , or may be there was? but i could tell from what we talked about its not a religious statement but more a gloryficalion of blood and sex, as expressed by God's Word, I love it!
Its been a long time obsession of mine to be a Christian, The realy extreme kind there is something wonderful about it , sorta heroicly lost like DonQuito like. In the Art realm , mainly folk art there are the occasions where an artis tis insipred by God to his hands are guilded by angles to warn of the devil and show God's Word , i contrast that to any contempory artist, Oh yea your works cleaver and crafty but did God make it!!! i think not!!! . Man what an ego buste, I was always trying to get DD or Jeff B to take on the challege of being a rual Biblical artist , This is what Texas is made of.
One of my more Christianly friends is always trying to get me to make a painting when Jesus cast these Demons out of a person and they went into a bunch of pigs and the pigs ran off this cliff cause they was crazy!, sound interesting, and you could present it to a conservitive crowd "hey its in the Bible" Devin (donut Posse) was also a big fan of Proper Gander a local zine review and comic newspaper that where he found my site another thing, is all these postings now people know the details of our house Devin walked around as said hey is this the yard you threw the dishs to ,
"yea," as we walked into the kitch " and notice no fucking dirty dishs!", it was funny.
Well, its a bright and sunny day, Halloween is comming up right around the corner, it remined me of the good ol days, back in my home town . We used to play this game called Friday13th, i think me and my buddies were like freashmen in highschool, there was about four or five of my good buddies, we use to hang out at one of my friends house Thomas he lived in a realy big ecclecticlt built house . We would get together and play this game where one person would stalk down the other three, it was like hide and go seek, but they had to not to be found, and one person would be hunting them , i was always the hunter i could freak my frineds out pretty good, it was all role playing but it was fun, Laying in the humid south Texas grass line and weeds in this heavy utility outfit, (like mikel myers) and popin up at them sorta walking like myers, I don't know if you ever saw the Halloween movies but they were great! mainly the first two, there is something almost squizphricly robotic about the character cold and invinciable. When playing the game i would put myself in a trance and start acting out these types of characters , there is something about play acting that seems more alive than real life, what is that called?..
but some of those stunts from that game would be rembered for a long time., i would also break into this hi pitch sorta short talk and start talking to the guys , i rember one one night back at my house i was on top of the roof, we had a deck that was on top of the roof, and i would hang out on it pace around alot, well i was expecting a friend of mine to come over and , i saw him creep up on me looking to see if i was standing in the driveway, so i walked over to the edge of the roof and watched him slowly hunched over creep along side our house, so i lended over and said ,
"hi we have been expecting you," in this wirery little vioce,
then he poped up and ran, i saw this and jumped off the roof waiting for him to return and... then ...., my friend pulled up in his truck, it wasn't him,.
i ended up scareing a prowler! it was like 10 pm
Well , i am baaaaccck,
it seems like to much time has blowen by , i was sorta burned out after the opening at Eyes of Tex, its funny, cause i blame fucking ebay for it! before the reception i was shooting out those haloween pic gettting all drunk at night , and posting like two a night on ebay and selling them for next to nothing , i liked that , then i went flatlined nothing sold with like 6 -8 on lot, it started to freak me out, ( this was the week before the show at eyes of tex and i still wanted to complete four more paintings,. I got al freaked cause i could sell these , what i thought was really good halloween paintings (see sept post), but thats the way it went , it ruined my recption, Ebay is so much more imediate, you have this time lot and counter, i wanted to make the gallery show like a ebay lot system with bids and closing bids, its fun,.
One aspect i like about ebay is the thousands of paintigns out there, its like a study of bad art by the bucketloads, but you do find these really special works out there and it real cheep too cheep to be allowed.
over the last week i went over to Brenham and met this collector, antiques. I read this article in thsi magazine or newpaper about his house, real cute and fancy early Texas stuff, What struck me about this article was he colected "vintage Blue Bonet paintings like mini one, it was odd, but the article had his like wall of them all tightly aranged, and it did look good. What struck me about the article was Was there an "vintage Blue Bonnt painting? "
You see in Texas, Blue Bonnets are a wild flower and ol ladys in Art leagues and crafter make pastual paintings of blue bonnets in this "bob ross" style, for over 100 years, so there is alot of them .
So is there a vintage look threw out time or time to time. No matter what one paints " an apple" it will look differnt every 40 years i suspect, since blue bonets are an establised Texas genra then there are hord of ol ladys making them with out much creative insight to the constructions, they addopt what tricks or techniques out there, do these "techniques" change , yes
as the colector found in older paintings but they still looked like a blue bonnet painitng, and rember he found old throw away ones.
