spiders in the Additc

one of my favorite storyies about making it, was a conversation i have had with a pal of mine back in San Marcos, we got to talking about bands and what they are made of, their realness so to speek. You get alot of Punk "anitselling out" angst around Austins alternate seen and music's chicness is still judges on the authincitys of the bands choice markets crowds.
This controversy came around when the band "The Spiders" went to LA, and signed a record label and hit the seen, When this band started they were really powerful to watch, the first couple of years still hyped up about cutting edge rock band out on the make , or make the seen, they did good in Austin, and started touring, and then the record deal,
but as like life itself the member started to get there own life and the bands cohesion started to falter , there climax was going to LA but the band changed and the glory of making it didn't seem as exciteing,, cuase by now there were hardened by playing in the trenches, .
Well the controversy came around creative control and why would a band moraly give there songs over to a studio to shape them into a market, this is heraisy to most Austin purist, but the oppruntinity was there to be paid to go be a rock start in some big city and the band felt,( as i believe and imgine about all this spectulative ideas about this), is that
the band had done what they can do here and wanted to take on the big time, what ever that ment, and they did and came back from the expericense, for what ever its worth,,
I pointed out that,
ahhh playing music is fine
you do it all the time but it can lead to an adventure,and dreams start to arrise$$ and it can take you places, and why not,
you may be at the ends of your ropes,
, and what condemn your soul or rep in the progrese, well it is an experment, and bizess at that.,
After you done everything to do in Austin, then whats else,
but gamble against fate and put your work out there,
to look down on the folks who migrate
