well the show went pretty good, i had a great time got a bit wot wacky, maybe to loud, tryed not to eat to much chatted etc,
the next day my head was in a buzzz, still,
a detail,
humm what else, well this it it folks th last stretch of the the track in sight, and what will be in store?
the title for the last show will be
"the triumps in your private time, might be timed"
what this means is something i have always like to preach apon, things that sorta draw you out of the house, and how one invents stuff, maybe this is high slacker apoligicalism, but there has to be some reason to it, so, theall this next show is going to be spoke about
=
object made around, fear, time and inventions, homemeade stuff,
i think i went of on this once before about AC/DC,
oh they are comming out with a new album in jan, View image
and here is a dark picture of Drek, form Last saturday night, in San marcos
"Profiles on the Rats who ate the grease from a Taco Bell Dumpster"
i am having a reception, on Wed, 5-9
at C-Art
1426 w. Craig pl
San Antonio
this video is about chicken bone art, and one of the pieces will be in the show
whats comming up
more triva on the san marc Eyes of Texas show, show pic from this one, Jarr's Halloween party, the evolution of the last grand show here in SA,
i tell ya folks i am about to die here eating to much chicken, i ended up smoking a bunch of chicken for the show, it was fun but i end up eating to much, like today, Damn!
i cooked out in the parking lot of the show, it was a nice turn out,
Going to cook BBQ!, back on the campain trail for this week!
Some how i picked up net, off my apple notebook, man this is great, its open a whole new idea of having a computer, i walk aroud with this thing alot, i have to be carefull
So , spent all friday night making BBQ sauce and preping chicken, for the show , check out his, -= Daily Record article--=-, So what else is going on, i think the new direction of this site after i am outta here, the end or RRSATX Studio, ill go into this character i have been doing, or is it just me acting out, ? ahhhhh who knows, but after watching ol Roloff, on these DVD's i got, it just makes me say fuck it, hit the road!, Well the site might just evolve into a blog site about my adventures, with alot of video,. something i am excited about doing now, ammautre filmaking basicly.
So what new works are in the make, well this one show here, at Eyes of Texas Gallery there in San Marcos, and then there is is C-ART show in San Antonio, (ill get photos) then this two to three weeks crack out , to be done and have the big last show here, then cool off, and where i land next,?
But back to San Marc, the house is beyond fucked up, so i knwo for sure there is going to be alot of bs about that, its been about two and half years since i have done anything there, the chickenhouse, so while the weather is cool i am going to be back there cleaing the place up and i feel putting alot old work into storage,.
So what other activitys well hallween is comming up, and i might make a video of me dressed as feddy painting away in my studio here, maybe there is going to be on last expressionistic blow out!,
I ended up scoreing two interviews with 420SA and SMDaily Record, i have two shows to go threw and two more BBQs! then two more weeks left for the final show, here in RRSATX studio, that show will start Nov. 17 , then i am outta her and on to my shotGun house, and the end of a two and a half long venture, starting fall 2005, so somewhere ins dec jan i am going to do a recape on this whole zone, and predict whats next, mainly where i am going to push this site, but until next time, its show time!
One of the more interesting characters who i ran into was this artist Wayne, he made work out of ashes of human cadavers who were put to med school training, yeaks! i think he had one of the more interesting works in the show, but as i tryed to tell him its a bit morbid, he went off on flights of spendor about how this is real life and surmons about dealing with death, ( You know i saw that move SAW 2, that is interesting movie gerna, cause its now like just leaves you the viewer with a sickening feeling not based on gore or anything but a moral torture catasterpy, but in SAW 2 you get to meet Jigs, who went on about life and death, its sorta like that movie "Seven,") well anyway, i was buggin Wayne about the possiblitys this work might seemed a bit disturbed,.,
or is it us the viewers, and the comptenplacent public, as SAW 2 pointed out, and WayneView imageAnther surprise was seeing Bunnyphonics! wayout here in the desert, in this new old building, i think it was a resturant at one time, well she played and here was the fireside mantle where she hung the costume. View imageAnother un PC activity that took place was watching Animal fight! ohh my God the Humanity! and crueltiy! as this crazed guy, Gus watched two insects fight in a a jar , a black widow and a scopion, the crowd seem mesmerised as to who was going to win, it was a late night activity there in Camp Marfa show, View imageAs the weeken drew to a close i remined Karen that look how safe everything his here, there is no crime, well the following sunday morning i woke up and went to my truck, and low an behold someone stole my cd radio!, which is odd because it quit working three years ago and i was two lazy to figure out how to get the thing out of there, strangely there was real valueable stuff in the truck like Vinces Ipod and camra but it was covered in to much trash and beer cans for the crooks to want to find it, so who ever out there has my cd radio, good luck, and kiss my ass!
here is the old Chicken head house, or what' left of it, i got to get out there and go back to work in the deal View imageand here i s Anglo, he pulled up while i was tallking, when i first meet James out there in Marathon, i was kidding with him about being his body guard and taking care of any problems he had with anybody, who disagreed with him, well when i first met Anglo who likes to drink wine and argue with folks in the town , James got in to a fight with him about patriotism which turned into a yelling match over at the White Bufflo, so i went over to James , (nobody knew me at the time) i was a scary bald headed drifter James befreinded, and asked James, Mr Evans would it make you feel better seeing your all upset that i kindly took this guy out back and whopped his ass some, would that make you feel better?" he said sure George i would like that alot! So i said to Anglo alright lest so you know whats gonna happen when you mess with Mr Evans, . Anglo is east coast Italian, and he about went nuts, yelling louder, as he didn't know what to think about this, James was laughing but continued arguing and got kicked out of the bar,
I got to know Anglo makes good piazza, has a resturant style over in his house , he like to play drums and drink wine.
show up over at Eyes of Texas Gallery(San Marcos Tx) this week end, the Saturday , i ll be cooking out all day so anybody who wants to visit swing on by, and chat, ill post some of the work this week
Another interesting arti i meet out in Marfa, who's work was showing at Tillie Gallery was Dustin
I think all the paintings in this mini show were based off this old sketch book of his, from elemantary school, the note book had all these types of drawing in them,
-=-=-=-=
ahhh i was suppose to do a nacho thing at the gallery but, it was a bust even Vince didn't play,
one of the few interesting shows there, was held by Buck and Camp, this is at their marfa studio/gallery, along with the show was ike Morgan's work which i had to seriouly fight back the temtation in not buying, so of their work
Camp Bosworth who along with buck live in Marfa
i would say , when i was chatting with him we are from the same tree of Texas status art, which is sorta redneck , the show was a pretty good mix,
This is where i stayed for two nights, in the "camp Marfa" show, the first night i got there i stayed over at Tillie gallery, one thing i like about those inflatable matreses is its like an instant bed!, bad sleeping days are over! when you go camping. it was pretty primative sleeping just a blanket,
the day of the "big" bbq was a bust to a degree, you can see it rain right in the middle of the thing , but that didn't stop anybody from getting free food, which wasn't that great the rice suxed ass, i think they burnt it,.
Show news!-=-=-==--=-==-=- two shows are about to start, here as two collections of work next week, one at Eyes of Texas, San Marcos and the other at C-art San Antonio ,-==-=-=- stay tooned for more details!--=-=
one interesting discover after i woke up from a hang over the next moring , there were alot of gallery openings all over marfa, one in perticular was fun to watch, this photo above is this artist/writer/cowboy kelly pruit (i was to scare to ask him, i wanted this photo so i just took it), i met him along time ago over in Redford, he moved into serg's old place, kelly from what i gathered is a legend in Texas cowboy art, "the real deal" in the cowboy lifestyle, he must be like 80 plus now, and when i saw him in redford 99, he had this like caravan of trucks he pulled into the town, with dogs sitting on everypart of it it looked like a gypys band waggon, and set up in this field and started making an adobe structure, along with his white new age indian girlfreind who was a big fan of his, man ! what a life!, this guy was tuff too,
he remined me of one of my other heros
henry Winston, my old highschool coach, part cheokee and german, this man stood like six for ,tan ,bald and took up the Friends churchs idea of mind over body, he was a coach, real quiet but man this guy look tuff, he was in real good shape for his age, i guess back in the 80, maybe sixty, something , but looking at kelly now he looks a bit wirey and weathered, but i would guess is still mean as every,
, hell the first time i tryed to talk to him he didn't say much and pointed to a shovel and said are you going to work, and i ended up helping him dig holes around his studio,
i guess when you get that old no one means anything , you just doen't care as much anymore, but now looking at him
, i think this is the way i would want to die, just be painting away, sometwhere, and just kill over, like on the city slickers movie, curly's death,
outside the gallery
i think there were alot of gallery set ups to try and cheese out the judd deal a bit, after a while, i thought, ahhhhh,
there is a story about all this
This Vince, we both went there together, the ol' truck made yet again! with 225,000 miles on it,! we got in late on a thursday and started getting fucked up way to quickly!, and look who was already there!
its Jefro!
yeap he was already there drinking etc, it was fun to chat with him about stuff, he is like a music legend in the Big Bend area, i have known about him for years, plays ucllayis and sings, talk guy to, i wouldn't want to mess with him , but always friendly,
-=-=-=-=-=
So ill go in to all the stuff i ran acrosss over in Marfa, so stay toned folks!
Happy October!!! and to spice things up, ask me some questions ,anything , the comment box below, i will be back in a week or so, going out to Marfa this weekend to sell nachos,
